The manufacturing processes for keeping bamboo material fresh is more complicated than it is for hardwoods. Bamboo material has a very light color and an abundance of nutritious and water content. Timely treatment can stop bacteria from changing the color. The raw material has to be treated and dried within 3 days after being harvested. LongHua adopts strict factory standards, so the color of our Longhua flooring is more fresh and original. It is humid in the southern region, where Mao bamboo grows. LongHua guarantees that our products satisfy the construction requirements in various climates. This is due to bamboo’s tropical qualities. It is also due to the continuous trolley drying room used to heat all bamboo strips by hot winds. This ensures all strips dry correctly and in balance. Longhua flooring also meets humidity requirements in North America, Western Europe and Russia. Because Mao bamboo is hollow inside and circular outside, we use the circular wall material to process. After the bamboo stalk has been split, taking off the green and yellow rectangle part, it becomes a square shaped bamboo strip. As the density differs from the green part to the yellow part, the strips must bend after drying while the less dense part shrinks more. This is the major difference between bamboo material and wood material.
We can assure our customers the uniformity of Longhua flooring. All flooring planks are processed to be perfectly straight with accurate machines and strict inspection procedures. Imported European processing equipment contributes to a guarantee of high product quality. For example, Longhua forms bamboo strips with a processing machine that presses them at a pressure of 1,200 tons. We use the most advanced equipment from Germany for molding which drops the difference of the gap between tongue and groove to +/-0.05mm. Longhua floor’s processing tolerance is subject to the following: Width: +/-0.1mm Length: +/-1mm Thickness: +/-0.1mm The previous measurement is the tolerance of processing index, which varies by climate. When there is 1 degree average humidity difference, the size of Longhua flooring shrinks or expands by 0.11-0.13%. When the moisture content is below 6% or higher than 18%, the relation between the change of flooring size and environment is reduced. The gap between the tongue and grooves of Longhua flooring is 0.15-0.20mm. When the humidity rises by over 3%, the fitting of flooring will be very tight and even difficult. We have strict controls over drying procedures. All bamboo strips are dried according to enterprise standards with our continuous trolley drying room. These processes ensure the adaptability of Longhua flooring in different regions.
Certification
California Air Restriction Board (CARB) Phase 2 has the strictest standards in the world for flooring and floor finishes. CARB covers the 7 counties surrounding Los Angeles California. All of our Bamboo products meet the CARB Phase 2 standards.
